King Henry V Sword

#501780
The Only Henry V Sword that Replicates the Gold Inlaid Pommel of the Original

This sword from Windlass Steelcrafts is a precise replica of the iconic sword of Henry V. Like the original, it's a relatively short weapon, designed for fast cutting and thrusting. The blade is slightly hollow ground and the edge is sharpened at the factory. It's beautifully balanced and feels lively in the hand. The pommel is hollow like the original and is appropriately gold plated in the recesses, and has red enamel crosses emblazoned on each side (we used enamel instead of paint for the sake of durability). An accurate, fully functional replica of a true battle sword once used by the king of England. A design with just enough flair for a sense of elegance, but no doubt a pragmatic, effective cutting weapon. Includes top-grain leather scabbard and belt.

Windlass Steelcrafts Langeid Viking Sword

#501821
When a new road was being constructed in the Langeid area of southern Norway's Setesdal valley in 2011, workers discovered an ancient Viking burial ground. Along with coins and a broadaxe, an archaeological team exhumed a startling, unique sword that hadn't seen the light of day for over 10 centuries. Thousands of Viking era swords, in various states of completeness, have been discovered in Norway, but not one of them has an elaborately inscribed hilt like the one exhibited by the weapon they found that day. Windlass Steelcrafts has replicated this amazing weapon, creating a fully functioning sword with a carbon steel blade that's battle capable like the original.

Sword of Baldur

#501781
We've designed this classic Viking sword as a tribute to Baldur, son of Odin and Frigg. The leather grip is laser engraved with three runes that we feel most befit the Norse God: Courage, Protection, and Strength. The 1065 high carbon steel blade is etched with runes that roughly can be translated as "Baldur", and arrives sharpened from the factory. The leather sheath has an integral belt. The sheath is covered with a layer of black suede and adorned with lace. The throat and chape bear a Viking symbol for the sun, as Baldur was known as a shining light to all who knew him.

Guinegate Sword

#501695
We replicated this sword years ago (decades ago, actually!) after photographing the original at an auction and being awed by its graceful design. We delightfully bring it back, but this time with a gorgeous new scabbard and belt that befit its lovely air of elegance. The high carbon steel blade employs the high center ridge of the original that enables cutting and thrusting with equal efficiency. The pommel and guard are beautifully finished brass, a subtle design counterpoint to the camel bone grip. The reddish-brown scabbard and belt are constructed of thick leather with brass fittings, for a sumptuous method of sword wear.

Review of: Windlass Steelcrafts Langeid Viking Sword

The museum replicas Langeid sword Would be absolutely amazing if the quality control was a little bit better on the sword blade. After inspecting the sword, I noticed that the fuller lines were extremely wavy, especially towards the tip of the blade. I understand these are handmade, there’s gonna be some imperfections, and not always the most straight lines but this was really an eyesore and very noticeable even from a distance. Also, all over the hilt was some sort of lacquer or protective coding I guess the protect the plating, but it was flaking off and made a crinkly sound when you held it in your hand. It wasn’t like a protective sticker that you could just peel off. It was painted on and could not be removed except for letting it slowly flake off. The peen was also kind of sloppily done and stuck out a little bit, so it caught my clothing if it rubbed against anything. I am waiting for an exchange right now. I sure hope the next one has better tolerances. Otherwise I will end up returning it.

Review of: Windlass Steelcrafts Langeid Viking Sword

This is a really nice sword. I didn’t expect it to be very sharp but it is. Also handles really well. This website lists it as 3 lbs 2 oz but mine weighs 2.75 lbs. The wire rapped handle actually helps with the grip. The guard and pommel has silver like plating with textured details painted. Overall Windlass has really improved greatly compared to its sword looking crowbar past. Also the scabbard is pretty good and has very nice designs and appears to be real leather. For this price I think it’s worth it.

Review of: King Henry V Sword

This sword is great! It’s sharp and light weight. Easy to swing yet solid in hand. Impressive to behold but not flashy. An excellent addition to any collector or student of the Hundred Years War.

Review of: Guinegate Sword

I bought the 1-st edition of this sword years ago; it was unsharpened & had no scabbard; It was excellent; After a lot of use, I had to wind up filling the hollow bone grip with epoxy & that made it most satisfactory
The reissue is a superb sword that does   well enough at cut & excellently at thrust.  It is one of the best I’ve gotten from MR (as was the 1st)
It seems very much in line with period swords that I’ve examined & it will not disappoint

Review of: Guinegate Sword

This sword is truly a work of art. It is graceful in its appearance, as well in its handling. I own many swords of various styles, and by far this is the best I have held in my hand. At first, I was a little anxious about a single-handed sword being 3 pounds (as most of my other cutters are around 2 pounds)...but the moment I took it out of the box, it felt far less than 3 pounds. (I took it to my scale and it is 3lbs, 0.7oz.) The hilt fittings and nicely polished bright, the bone grip is smooth, and hilt construction is nice and tight. The blade is mirror polished and is well made. The belt and scabbard are well constructed - perfect compliments to this sword. There is not enough praise I can say about this sword. It is absolutely wonderful.

Review of: Guinegate Sword

Although it took a while for them to get the order shipped in to them (not really their fault) they didn't charge me until they were sure it was in good condition and shipped out. When it was shipped out, it arrived here extremely quick in less than a week. Not to mention the quality of the sword is pristine and very well made. I'm confident I will love this every time I look at it

Review of: Guinegate Sword

I remember eyeing the catalog pictures 30 years ago and then they stopped making it. I'm so glad it's back! It is stunningly beautiful. Everything fits tightly together (no rattling) and the profile on the blade is as beautiful as I hoped for. The sheath is quite stunning as well - especially the buckles and hardware. No skimping there. Yes the sword is not well balanced - the blade is heavy but it is solid and sharp. If I were to add one improvement it would be to add brass trim at the top of the sheath if for no other reason than to give that classic "klink" sound when the sword goes into the sheath. But the bare leather is cut to fit the cross guard perfectly. I am so glad I have this sword after 30 years of waiting.

Review of: Guinegate Sword

I bought this sword from your first run..... It is absolutely beautiful. The prettiest sword of my entire collection.... I am now drooling over the new scabbard and hoping that you might offer the scabbard as a stand alone item to owners of the original run of this wonderful blade. Any chances....!?

Review of: Guinegate Sword

I bought this sword the first time MR created it.  I have been giving talks in schools for over 40 years about the "Dark Ages" and have used MR swords.  This sword has always been a great hit with my students, it has a great look, the feel is like an extension of the arm not a dead weight hanging out there.  The students love the look of the hilt and the ridge down the center for armor piercing.  When I pull out my book on the Wallace Collection and show them almost identical sword, they know it isn't some "Hollywood sword" but it is like the "real thing".  That is what I have expected from MR from the days of Hank R. to today.  I know who ever buys this sword will enjoy having in their collection as I do.
