The knife is really cool, but here is what i think about it.

Pros: Its a real knife, Really detailed and looks great when put on.

Cons: Has a leather strap/string that you have to tie on your arm and it only has one of those so it just hangs there and almost broke, and the buttons on the leather are so far apart that it doesn't fit on my arm like it should so the knife just hangs on my arm.

This knife is perfect! I love it.  The reason it seems large for the forearm is because it is designed to fit under the Vambrace.  Once that is buckled it is perfect.

Hi Dean -  The restrictions are that we cannot ship this knife to CA, MA, NY or Canada. The blade moves as described.

Do you need a weapons licence if you buy the hidden blade? Please answer so I can buy it quick before Revelations comes out. Also does the blade only move or does the covering in the middle because I don't want to have a long metal rectangle sticking out of my hand all the time, like I just want it to be the two pieces move and retract and can lock in position. Can anybody help out?

Super awesome totally cool piece of work!!!  The craftmanship is A++.  To make it clear, there is only one moving part.  That is the blade.  But it's cool.  If you wear it back on your forearm, the blade hole is right there at your wrist.  But you will have to make or buy a new armband to hold it.  The one it comes with is ridiculously large.  I'm 6'2" 205 lbs and workout regularly.  I was able to snap that armband around my upper arm.  You'd have to be a pro body builder for that to fit your forearm.  That's the only reason I gave it 4 out of 5 stars.  But let me say again, it is a great piece of work; beautiful engraving, strong and solid.  Nice locking mechanism for both open and closed states. I would buy anything from these guys.  They are good!

The device itself is great and looks amazing, it is a 2 part system to extend and retract. the blade is an ok length (4 inches is longer than you would think) but the width leaves a little room to be desired (they enlarged a little bit on the description picture of the blade). the clasp system on the bracer is also lacking, it started fine but as it got to my wrist it was loose (if your adept at it i would say get an archery guard to attatch it to). but overall it is a nice peice and im glad i bought it.

This is a well-made part of the costume - and the one that will garner the most "oohs" and "ahhs".  The response is always, "I was wondering if you were going to have the retractible knife!"  As Thomas mentioned, it is not spring-loaded, presumable for liability reasons.  However, when posing for photo shots, it is easy and quick enough to extend the blade without them really noticing you did it.  Generally, you will be wearing it higher on the forearm than shown, but the piece will still interfere slightly with coordination due to the metal extending into the base of the palm and also due to impeding the wrist from bending.  (The hardest thing I had with it was retrieving my cell phone from its holder on the back of my belt covered my the cape.)  However, this is not a serious issue at all.  The brace could use one more strip of snaps for those who aren't Popeye.
