OVERVIEW

Popular in medieval Europe, a bec de corbin (French for crow’s beak) was simply another name for a poleaxe. This shortened version consists of a modified hammer’s head and spike mounted atop a wooden pole. The hammer face balanced the beak and was often blunt instead of the multi-pronged Lucerne design, and the beak tended to be stout, a much better design for tearing armor and used for dismounting riders.

This impressive piece measures a full 56" in overall length. Detailed pierce-work, a strong hand guard and period details make this piece as beautiful as it is deadly. All hand forged by the master armorers of Windlass Steelcrafts.

  • Overall: 56"
  • Hammer to Rear Spike: 12" long, 4" wide
  • Top Spike: 7-3/4"
  • Wt: 6 lbs/8 oz

Bec de Corbin
Great piece for any Medieval Weapons collection (whilst it is fully functional and battle ready.) I'm impressed with the overall look and quality of the workmanship that was put into it. Lightning fast shipping was my experience, and packaged, very well, and coated with oil to protect the metal parts. It's a bit shorter than what they would have used during the period, but it's a wall hanger for me, so it's not an issue. Again, I'm impressed with this piece, MRL, does not disappoint. Until you have a Bec de Corbin in your collection, you're missing out. I just can't help to think how much awe and terror these inflicted on the battlefield, especially with a large group of Pikemen. Thank you MRL, you have delivered, as always.

Been waiting for this!
I've been waiting for this to come back for several years.  A beautiful and deadly addition to my polearm family!  Everything you need to beat down and punch through armor.  As always, historically accurate, French based weapon.

Bec de Corbin
I love this weapon. I appreciate the elegance of the sheer practicality of it: this is a large, functional weapon for taking down armored opponents. While it resembles some war hammers offered on the site, the extended hook (raven's beak), which actually has the thickness and weight of a dagger, which contributes to the weapon having both a wicked look about it and its austere beauty. Displaying the weapon required some ingenuity due to it having spikes that extend from the sides of the head of the weapon as well, but that is my only negligible criticism. It looks terrific on my wall and retains a tight, solid feel after all the swinging it around I have put it through. I am very satisfied with this weapon and would buy it again, no reservations.

By far my favorite purchase yet from this site! It is sturdy, well made, and as beautiful as it is deadly looking! It came with no blemishes or defects of any kind. I did have to wait almost 2 months because it was on back order but when it finally came it was WELL WORTH the wait. Absolutely love this thing!
